Execution and fees

How bets are filled against the Polymarket order book and what the fee is.

Order book execution

Bets are filled the same way as market orders on Polymarket:

  • A buy fills against sellers' offers, from the best price to the worst. The trade price is the weighted average across all levels filled.
  • A sell fills against buyers' bids, from the best price down.
  • There are no partial fills. If the order book doesn't have enough volume for the full amount, the bet isn't accepted — lower the amount.

A large bet on a market with a thin order book may fill at an average price above the current one — the bet panel will warn you.

Fee

The fee is exactly what Polymarket charges on that market. It's the same taker fee Polymarket takes for a trade: we deduct it from the account's virtual balance so your result matches real trading. No real money is spent on it, and Prop Hub doesn't earn from fees — our income is challenge fees and our share of funded-account profit.

  • Each market has its own rate, set by Polymarket: crypto markets are higher, sports, politics and finance are lower.
  • If Polymarket doesn't charge a fee on a market, the trade is fee-free with us too.
  • We read the rate from the market at the moment of every trade — if Polymarket changes it, ours changes right away.

Formula: fee = shares × rate × price × (1 − price). As a share of the bet amount it's rate × (1 − price): the cheaper the outcome, the larger the fee's share.

  • When you buy, the fee is charged on top of the bet amount; when you sell, it's deducted from the proceeds.
  • If you hold a position until the event resolves, there's no fee on the winning payout.
  • On average across our trades over the last 30 days, the fee is about 3.1% of the amount.

The exact fee of each trade is in the "Fee" column in Trades.

Event outcome

When Polymarket resolves a market, positions close automatically, usually within a couple of minutes:

  • the winning outcome pays $1 per share;
  • the losing one pays $0;
  • if the market resolves 50/50 — $0.50 per share.

The money is credited to the account balance.
