How to place a bet

How to buy an outcome, bet in one tap and sell a position before it resolves.

Buy an outcome

  1. Open an event on the Market.
  2. Choose an outcome — for example, Yes or No, a team or a range. The button shows the current price.
  3. Choose an account if you have several.
  4. Enter the amount and click Buy — or tap one of the 1-tap buy buttons.

Below the amount you'll see: your available balance, how much more you can bet given the limits, and the potential payout.

Price and payout

An outcome's price ranges from 1¢ to 99¢ and roughly equals the probability the market gives the event. Each share you buy pays $1 if the outcome happens and $0 if it doesn't.

Example. You bought $50 at 40¢ → 125 shares. The outcome happens — you get $125, that's +$75 profit before fees. It doesn't — you lose the $50 bet.

You can change the price format (cents, decimal or American odds and more) in settings — see Settings and notifications.

Quick amounts

You can set three amounts for the 1-tap buy buttons in settings: $1–$10,000. A button with an amount above the limit is disabled.

Sell before resolution

You can sell an open position at the current price without waiting for the outcome: click Sell in your trades block under the event chart or in Trades. The whole position is sold at once.

Why a bet may not go through

  • The amount is above the per-outcome limit (5% of the starting balance) or more than drawdown protection allows.
  • The order book doesn't have enough offers for this amount — try less.
  • The market is closed, waiting for its outcome, or resolves later than 2 days.
  • Trading on the account is frozen: a withdrawal or funding request is under review.

The reason is always shown in the bet panel.
